I'm Catherine, a trained copy-editor and proofreader. I have an MA (Hons) 2:1 in History from Edinburgh University and I have completed several industry-recognised courses with the Society for Editors and Proofreaders (SfEP). I am bound by the society's code of practice www.sfep.org.uk/standards/code-of-practice. I have experience proofreading and copy-editing:
⌛ academic journal articles
⌛ theses and dissertations
⌛ magazine articles
⌛ a large, multi-volume translation from Arabic, in collaboration with other proofreaders.
I understand how important it is to hand work in on time, so I always meet my deadlines. I'm also used to ensuring that work conforms to a specific style sheet.
My particular areas of expertise include history, social science, politics and world religions. I also have knowledge of French and Arabic.
"Catherine just edited an academic article for me and I am very happy with the result. She delivered as promised, within the time path she set out. Her work is precise and accurate. She even pointed out inconsistencies in my text and was happy to give me helpful advice on textual questions I struggled with." Christie
"Quick work delivered with helpful suggestions and constructive feedback.
Catherine completely polished my work by adding appropriate vocabulary and patiently corrected my English grammar.
I am totally happy with her editing service." Purvi Laxman, author of Holistic Wellbeing: Guide your child to stand on his own two feet.
